The Online Writing Lab (OWL) is a service provided by the Oregon State University Writing Center. The OWL is a free resource to all students, faculty, and staff that provides online feedback about your writing.

To access this resource, begin at the Writing Center homepage and navigate to the Online Writing Lab. The OWL is available from the second week of term to the beginning of the final week.

It typically takes 3 business days to receive feedback via email, however 50 minute skype consultations are available if you prefer verbal feedback. Feedback is provided on issues like brainstorming, organization/structure, thesis/focus, and audience/focus. Feedback regarding sentence structure or grammar may be received during a skype consultation. In order to get the most out of your experience, try to include as much about the purpose of the essay as you can in the submission, as well as your top questions/concerns.

If you would like to speak with someone about your writing in person, come by the OSU-Cascades Library Tykeson Hall 202 to check out the tutoring schedule, or check availability online.
