Thanksgiving is this Thursday, November 24th.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that carries many meanings. Family; friends; food; football; history.

Originally proclaimed by George Washington in 1789, Thanksgiving has been celebrated as a federal holiday since 1863. The "First Thanksgiving," a three day feast attended by the Wampanoag tribe and Pilgirms alike, was celebrated in 1621 after the Pilgrims' first harvest. Thanksgiving was a practice both parties had in common, giving thanks to their Creator for their good fortune.

November is American Indian Heritage Month

This week's Serendipity Exhibit features books, and movies centering around Native American culture, including art, history, personal stories, treaties, and origin stories. Whether or not you end up celebrating Thanksgiving, don't forget to set aside a few minutes to reflect on what you're thankful for.

Don't forget to take a break before dead week and finals! Need some ideas? Look no further!
