The Oregon
Library Association has awarded Janet Webster, Hatfield Marine Science Center
Head Librarian, the 2013 OLA Distinguished Service Award. This award is given
to an Oregon librarian or library staff member for exceptional service over

The Oregon Multicultural Archives is honoring the
Japanese American students who were forced to abandon their studies at Oregon
State College during WWII with the exhibit “The Fall of ’41: Students of
Japanese Descent at Oregon State College.” The display includes background
about Japanese immigration to Oregon and chronicles the events after the attack
on Pearl Harbor.

OSU Libraries is
hosting an online copyright workshop, "Policy Decisions in the
Copyright Arena." Kevin L. Smith, Director of Copyright and
Scholarly Communications at Duke University will be discussing choices to be
made while formulating copyright policy for higher education institutions.
